6 Weeks and Counting

6 weeks on the Weight Watcher Program and so far I have lost 11.5 lbs. Not bad I guess but it sure doesn't come off as fast as it comes on. I went to have my blood work done today at our Corporate health for good measure. I am curious to see if my cholesterol levels are better since I have been eating better. I am also wondering about my thyroid. I guess I am hoping that the Dr. tells me that I have hypothyroidism and puts me on medication and within 6 months I will be at goal. Okay I get the fact that I can not eat the kind of things that other people eat (which by the way is totally unfair.) and stay slim. It doesn't help that my skinny as a rail co-worker ate 2 Twix candy bars the other day without a care in the world, and all the while I am eating rabbit food and I look like I do. When I get to heaven I am surely going to ask God why he did this to me :)

Go Libby!

I just had to tell you about my proud mama moment. My youngest, Libby, had her state gymnastics meet this weekend. She did awesome!! This was the first time ever that she had all 9's ; including a 9.4 on beam no less. Out of all the girls her level and age group, she ranks 6th in the state. I am sooo proud of her. I could tell that she has really been working hard. The coaches have been pushing the girls to get ready for state and it shows!!!

Weight Loss

Once again I am on the WW wagon. I have tried this so many times before, but only to fall off of the wagon and have it run me over. This time is different and I really feel like I am in the right frame of mind. I am in week 4 of the journey and have lost 10 lbs so far. Had I not gained 20 since the beginning of the year, that would sound good. The turning point in my life was when I went to the fitness Expo at the Civic Center and had my cholesterol tested and it was very high. My mom just had her arteries in both sides of her neck cleared out, and my grandmother died from having a stroke, so it is not very responsible of me to have high cholesterol. I have decided to make a change in my life, so that I can be there for my kids when they are older. I invite you to come along for the journey

Fully medicated and ready to go!!!

Before you begin to think that I am a big druggie, let me explain. In November 2005, I had a complete hysterectomy and had to go on Hormone replace therapy. Life was good; no more pain, and no more Aunt Flo. I had to make another appt with the OB/GYN to have a check up to get a refill on my meds. As luck would have it, Libby was sick the day of the appt. and I had the appt. date on my work calendar, so needless to say I missed the appt. The next day I called and explained to the Dr. office what had happened and they told me that their policy was that I would have to wait for 2 months to reschedule my appt. I told them that all I really needed was my meds filled and they said that they could not until I saw the Dr in 2 months. Okay, so by this point I am getting downright pissed and can not believe that these people are really telling me this. To make a long story short, I did not get my medication after several attempts, and even offering to pay for the missed appt. so I found a new Dr. to go see. Of course I had to wait for forever to get in, so I went for over 2 months without my hormones. It has been a really rough road. I would not wish hot flashes on my worst enemy, (okay maybe my worst enemy) but really they are awful. I went to the new Dr. yesterday and now I am good to go. Also, I have been doing Weight Watchers again for the billionth time, and praying to God that I have enough willpower to stick with it. It has been a hard road, but I am hanging on. I will be posting my weight loss journey on different blogs. Thanks for reading this novel.

AMERICAN IDOL

So will today be the day that Sanjaya goes home???? Not likely, but one can wish. I don't think I take another week of looking at his big cheesy smile. When there are so many talented people on the show, can someone please tell me why this boy is still on there? If America is doing it as a joke, it is really not funny. I for one look forward every year to Idol and the fact that he is still on there makes me want to turn the channel

Illinois Weather

Oh how I dislike the Illinois weather patterns. Today's high is 76 degrees and Wednesday we drop back down to 50. Just when you think you can break out the capri's, the cold weather comes back. I would like to start planting my garden and paint my porch, but with the unpredictabilty of the weather, I guess I will have to wait.

Greetings All

This is my first posting so I guess I better make it a good one. My name is Shanon and I am married to a wonderful man named Bobby. I have 3 beautiful girls; Kayla, Ashley and Libby. Life keeps us pretty busy these days, but I have recently made the decision that I have to make time for me and what it is important. Everyone just needs to slow down and take the time to smell the roses.

Let me tell you about my children. Kayla is my oldest daugther who is 15. Kayla is very smart and funny and aspires to be a plastic surgeon. She is a honor roll student and takes pride in her work and holds her self to a very high standard. She loves to go to the thriftstores to buy "old lady" clothes. She will then bring them home, alter them on her sewing machine, and they turn out so cute on her. I don't know how she does it.

Ashley is the middle child, and is so 14. Ashley is the type of girl that would give you the shirt of her back. She is the kindest, sweetest, girl I know. I tease her about being a cat lady when she gets older because she is an animal lover. Ashley is also an honor roll student, even though things come harder for her than they do for Kayla, she still manages to have great grades. She also loves to draw and is very good at it.

Libby is the youngest and I don't really know where to begin with her. :) Because she is the smallest, Libby makes sure that everyone knows that she is present. She is a very funny child with a witty sense of humor;Although sometimes that sense of humor gets her in trouble from time to time. Libby is a gymnast and dreams of going to the Olympics one day. As her mother I have to support her dreams, right???

These girls keep me hopping most of the time, but then you add the DH in the mix and we are one busy family. My husband and I have been married for 11 years but have been together for 18. You could say we have really grown up together. I love him not only for what he does for me, but because he is a great father
